Machupicchu Historical Sanctuary, Peru : Machu Picchu is one of the most important and visited pre-Columbian sites in the Americas, located in Peru. It is a prominent symbol of Peruvian national pride and the Inca civilization. The ruins served as a royal refuge during the winter, being also a religious sanctuary and mausoleum of the Inca kings of Cusco, built around the 15th century with magnificent architecture harmoniously integrated into a spectacular landscape. Its remote and protected location has preserved a rich diversity of endemic and relict flora and fauna, including the rare spectacled bear.
At approximately 6:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel, followed by a trip by tourist transportation that will last about 6 hours until you reach Hidroeléctrica. On the way, we will make a brief stop in the town of Ollantaytambo for about 15 minutes. We will continue the trip to Abra Málaga, located 4200 meters above sea level, where we will make a stop to enjoy the landscape. We will descend along the road, passing from Puna to the edge of Selva, with impressive landscapes, until we reach Santa María and then Santa Teresa, where we will enjoy lunch.
Subsequently, we will continue to Hidroeléctrica, from where you can choose to take a walk of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, covering a distance of 10 km (there is also the option of taking a train that takes 45 minutes). Finally, we will arrive at Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), where we will have dinner and have a brief talk with the guide about the next day’s tour. Accommodation will be provided in a basic hotel with a private bathroom and hot water.
After receiving instructions from the guide and having an early breakfast, we will begin the hiking tour along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We estimate to arrive at 6 am, where we will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the main sectors of the Machu Picchu citadel. After the guided tour, you will have free time until approximately 12 noon, at which time we will descend to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).
In the afternoon, you can visit the therapeutic thermal baths, walk through the town admiring the rocks carved with Inca motifs and take photographs in this picturesque place, Machupicchu town.
After breakfast, at approximately 9 am, the 10 km walk to Hidroeléctrica will begin. During this walk, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes characteristic of the area, visit the Mandor Falls and refresh yourself with a swim. You will continue walking and at approximately 2:30 pm, the transportation will be waiting for you to return to the city of Cusco. It is estimated to arrive between 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm, thus marking the end of Tours Peru Machu Picchu services.
