4-day trek along the Inca Trail to Choquequirao, a remote and spectacular archaeological site nestled in the Peruvian Andes. This trek offers a journey through rugged terrain, ancient Inca pathways, and breathtaking landscapes.
Begin your trek from Cachora village, descending into the Apurimac Canyon and then ascending to Choquequirao. Explore the expansive ruins of Choquequirao, often referred to as the «sister» of Machu Picchu but less visited, with terraced hillsides, ceremonial plazas, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Led by experienced guides, this trek provides an immersive experience into Inca history and culture, away from the crowds. With comfortable camping accommodations and meals included, this expedition promises a challenging yet rewarding adventure through one of Peru’s most impressive archaeological treasures over four unforgettable days.
Choquequirao, which means «Cradle of Gold», is an Inca citadel located between the foothills of the snow-capped Salkantay. These archaeological remains include buildings and terraces distributed on several levels. Known as the «sacred sister» of Machu Picchu due to its similarities, Choquequirao offers a specialized trekking experience that allows you to explore wild and little-known places.
